Episode Overview

Local ranchers are furious over Charles Daniels' (Arch Johnson) logging activities, fearing they will devastate a crucial watershed and harm grazing land. Despite their pleas, Daniels remains unyielding, prompting the Virginian and Emmett Ryker to step in and maintain order amid the rising tensions. Adding to the complications, Daniels' daughter Katie (Joan Freeman) is developing a romance with Dave Ferguson (Martin Milner), the son of a rancher opposing the logging. Both Daniels and his foreman, Paul Rogers (William Smith), disapprove of their relationship. When Ferguson accidentally causes Rogers' death, Daniels wrongly assumes it was murder and seeks vengeance.
