Episode Overview
Five men roll into Medicine Bow with plans to rob the bank: Bob Archer, Frank Cave, brothers Roy and Cullen Tindall, and their leader, the infamous gunslinger Del Stetler, known as the Modoc Kid. However, Deputy Emmett Ryker has been watching them and ambushes the group alongside Sheriff Abbott and other deputies. In the chaos, Cave is killed, and Archer is captured, while the remainder of the gang escapes, despite Roy suffering serious injuries. They manage to evade the law and take refuge at Shiloh ranch, where only the Graingers are present. Holding them hostage, the Modoc Kid forces Elizabeth Grainger to care for the wounded Roy. Realizing they need a doctor, he coerces John Grainger into tricking Dr. Hinton into coming to Shiloh under the ruse that Elizabeth has injured herself.
