Episode Overview
While out on the range, Trampas catches sight of a girl named Amanda (Valora Noland) riding a pinto. Despite having seen her before, no one, including the Virginian, believes she’s real. He tries to catch up to her, but she rides away, unwilling to speak. Later in town, he spots her again with her mother, Miriam Harley (Vivi Janiss), and learns they’ve moved to a local farm. Trampas invites Amanda to a dance, but she declines. As the Harleys prepare to leave, they’re observed by Richard Pierce (Warren Stevens), a newcomer at the hotel. After discovering their address, he visits the Harleys but rides off when her father, Frederick (R. G. Amstrong), appears. In town, Pierce tries to persuade the stationmaster to halt a train for some horses, drawing the attention of Sheriff Mark Abbott. He also exchanges a few words with Bert Robinson (Sandy Kenyon),
