While in New Mexico to purchase cattle, MacKenzie encounters a New York writer who becomes intrigued by the local Comancheros, a group despised by the community and particularly by the Sheriff. Her fascination leads her to write a piece that puts her in danger, resulting in her abduction and causing a ripple of trouble for everyone involved.
