S01E05 East
Episode Overview
Archaeologist Ben Robinson visits Lavenham in Suffolk, hailed as the most well-preserved medieval village in England. During the 16th century, Lavenham thrived as one of the country's wealthiest towns, thanks to its prosperous woollen cloth trade. However, as the industry waned, the affluent residents left, and by the 19th century, the village faced significant poverty. Today, Lavenham has regained its charm and stands out once again as a beautiful destination.
