Feb 24, 2001 Season 13 Episode 8 Reality

Episode Overview

Norm takes a trip to the stunning Biltmore Estate in Asheville, North Carolina, a grand chateau constructed in 1880 by George Washington Vanderbilt. This impressive 250-room mansion features a remarkable array of fine furniture, including original pieces by Sheraton and Chippendale. Among these treasures, Norm finds an elegant mahogany dressing table with a folding mirror and beautifully turned legs, which he plans to recreate in The New Yankee Workshop. In this first part of a two-episode series, Norm explores a national forest to learn about timber regulation from the U.S. Forest Service and visits a local plywood mill to witness the production of high-quality plywood.
