At the start of The Library System, the finale of New Yankee Workshop's 17th season, Norm poses a familiar question: who wouldn't want more shelf space for their books and collectibles? Acknowledging the demand for a versatile bookcase design that can complement any room and expand to fit a wall, Norm crafts a modular system that can easily navigate around windows or doors. Although it resembles high-end custom built-ins, the components are assembled in the workshop, allowing for easier handling of large plywood pieces and dust management. Norm hopes his tips will inspire fellow woodworkers to create their own Library Systems.
