The New Yankee Workshop (1989)
S02E04 Kitchen Dresser
Episode Overview
Inspired by an 18th-century kitchen cupboard at Old Sturbridge Village, a "living history" museum in Sturbridge, Massachusetts, Norm sets out to build his own version using pine. His design includes open shelves atop a base cabinet with a door featuring an antique-style hinge. Norm demonstrates how to create a curved outline for the side pieces using a pattern, then employs a saber saw for precise cuts, preserving the cut-out sections for shelving. He also showcases the use of a molding head cutter on his table saw to add decorative beads to the shelves.
