The New Yankee Workshop (1989)
S07E08 Clancy Boat (1)
Episode Overview
The journey begins at the Center for Wooden Boats in Seattle, Washington, where an ambitious project inspired by the "Clancy" class boat takes shape. Back in the workshop, Norm meticulously constructs the lightweight vessel using marine veneer mahogany plywood and a robust epoxy and fiberglass method to ensure it is watertight. Once the final coat of epoxy is sanded and the paint and waterproof finish are applied, Norm tests the newly crafted SS New Yankee 1 and 2. He and This Old House host, Steve Thomas, set sail with the workshop-built Clancy boats. This marks the first part of a two-part series.
