After Dr. Dennis Barrows's car malfunctions, he finds himself in a peculiar town where outsiders are unwelcome and the locals harbor a deep fear of the lighthouse and its mysterious light. During his stay at a house illuminated by the beacon, he encounters a sick child and uses his medical expertise to help the young patient. Meanwhile, Gus Rosenthal, frustrated with his adult life, decides to revisit his childhood home in Ohio. While unearthing an old toy soldier, he unexpectedly finds himself transported back to his youth.
