Nikita continues to display signs of her "reprogramming," such as ordering the death of a captured Section agent, putting children’s lives at risk during a mission, and participating in the torture of a prisoner. Michael is resolute in his quest to bring back the real Nikita and believes that Ross Gelman, the original creator of the "reprogramming" technique, holds the key to her recovery. While Operations revels in the transformation of Nikita, Madeline remains concerned. Ultimately, Operations decides that Michael's efforts to restore Nikita have crossed a line and resorts to drastic actions.
