Annie Quaintain embarks on a journey with her kids to start anew in Jericho, where she establishes a boarding house for the local workers. However, she soon discovers she’s not the only newcomer. Charismatic laborer Johnny is back in his hometown of Yorkshire after time spent in Africa, but he quickly finds himself in a fierce conflict with a temperamental coworker.
