The Pope visits the city, and Sophia attends his mass. During her attempt to kiss his ring, it accidentally falls into her possession. Simultaneously, Rose suspects that Miles is keeping secrets from her. To help her, Blanche surprises Rose with a detective as a birthday present, intending to uncover the truth about Miles.
