The parish vicar approaches the Steptoes, requesting them to contribute an article about the history of their trade for the community magazine. After a heated debate over who should take on the task, Harold ends up with the assignment, much to Albert's chagrin. In retaliation, Albert concocts a challenging crossword puzzle to prove his own worth.
