Burt struggles to find the courage to reveal to Mary that he won’t be around to witness their child’s birth. Meanwhile, Danny and Polly openly express their feelings for each other. Concerned about Danny's interracial relationship, Mary seeks reassurance, but Jodie encourages Danny to trust his emotions. In a significant moment, Billy experiences intimacy with Leslie for the first time.
