Episode Overview
An armed robbery takes a sinister turn when the perpetrator is found dead in his residence. Before DCI Banks can delve into the case, Chief Superintendent Gerry Rydell urgently requests his assistance in locating his missing daughter. Rosalind, Rydell’s wife, discovers compromising photos online that suggest the girl may be in London. Reluctantly, Banks tracks down Emily to a drug dealer’s home, where she initially refuses to return but eventually agrees. Meanwhile, Annie, who has been investigating the robbery while Banks was away, suspects it was a setup, yet the accomplice remains silent. After Emily hints at seeing one of Clough’s associates in Leeds, Banks urges her to share what she knows, but she remains tight-lipped. The discovery of a battered body in an Eastvale nightclub reveals it to be Ruth Walker, whom Emily knew in London, leading Banks and Annie into a web of conspiracy that complicates both cases
