John Wayne Gacy, Jr. (March 17, 1942 – May 10, 1994) was an infamous American serial killer, often referred to as the Killer Clown, who brutally raped and murdered 33 teenage boys and young men between 1972 and 1978. He buried 26 of his victims in the crawlspace beneath his house, while three others were hidden elsewhere on his property, and the remaining four were discarded in a nearby river. Gacy earned the nickname "Killer Clown" from his involvement in community events, where he entertained children by dressing as "Pogo the Clown," a persona he created himself.
