Episode Overview
Blair Stanley, Sara's father, has been cleared of fraud charges and wants her to return to Montreal with him. Upon his arrival on the island, he faces off against Hetty King, who is determined to keep Sara from leaving. Hetty harbors resentment towards Blair for taking her sister, Ruth, away and for her subsequent death, which she blames on their fast-paced city lifestyle. Torn between her love for her newfound family in Avonlea and her father's wishes, Sara feels heartbroken. Her attempts to mediate between Hetty and Blair only lead to greater frustration, prompting her to run away in hopes of mending the rift. Unfortunately, her actions only intensify the conflict. When she is eventually found, Sara confronts Blair but, distracted and upset, she slips and falls from the barn's loft. The near tragedy compels Hetty and Blair to set aside their differences and agree to a truce, allowing Sara to remain on the island.
