Old Lady Lloyd is thought to be incredibly rich, but in reality, she’s struggling in her grand home. Sara forms a friendship with Miss Lloyd and is eager to assist her. Sylvia Gray, a friend of Olivia who is visiting Avonlea, is the daughter of Miss Lloyd's long-lost love—someone she still holds a grudge against. Sylvia possesses a stunning singing voice, and after an extensive talk with Peg Bowen, Miss Lloyd braves a thunderstorm to reach out to her estranged cousin for help in launching the young woman's career.
