Episode Overview
Janet King's Great-Aunt Eliza pays a visit, stirring up quite a frenzy in the King household as Janet juggles her desire to impress her while feeling under the weather. Meanwhile, Alec discovers that cricket isn’t as simple as it once was in his youth. At 12 and a half, Felicity decides she’s officially “grown up” and develops a crush on a rival cricket player, David Hawes, dreaming of her “first kiss.” Sara and Felix befriend Gus Pike, a young sailor new to Avonlea who’s seeking work. Alec offers Gus shelter in the barn and a job until the cannery opens. It’s perceptive Aunt Eliza who realizes that Janet’s unease stems from the exciting news of a new baby on the way. Felicity finally gets her kiss, and Gus Pike’s arrival changes the family dynamics forever.
