Episode Overview

Uncle Joe's bargain refrigerator is on the fritz, prompting Kate to send him to Pixley for ice to preserve their food. Meanwhile, Floyd and Charley are at odds over who runs the Cannonball, and their squabble escalates over a missing apple. This conflict prevents Joe from reaching Pixley, risking the food spoilage. Kate mediates to reconcile the two, but when Joe inadvertently reignites the feud, she enlists Betty Jo to bring in Mr. Douglas for his wisdom. Despite their efforts, tensions remain high. Joe attempts to fetch ice using the handcar, but the Cannonball strike lingers. Ultimately, Kate devises a clever plan to restore harmony between Floyd and Charley.
