It's Kate's special day, and she appreciates the thoughtful gifts and warm wishes she's received. However, she's anxiously waiting for a surprise from Betty Jo and Steve, who are enjoying their honeymoon in Hawaii. As the day progresses, Kate's hopes fade when the mail arrives without any sign of a gift from them, leading her to think they may have forgotten. Meanwhile, Betty Jo and Steve are eager to return home early to celebrate with Kate. When Sam and Joe visit the Pixley post office to check on any delayed deliveries, they end up in trouble with the law. Betty Jo accidentally misplaces Kate's present, causing them to miss their flight, but with the help of an Air Force friend, they manage to arrive just in time.
