Episode Overview

With Kate away, Uncle Joe steps in to run the inn, convinced he needs to charge their sole guest, 'Old Man' Bill Clayton, for his stay. Bill, who has no money, was allowed to stay by Kate. Uncle Joe initially plans to demand rent or evict him, but when he hesitates, Bill spots the bill in Joe's hand and decides to leave on his own. Misunderstanding the situation, Sam and Floyd treat Joe like a pariah. Guilt-ridden, Uncle Joe retreats to an old cabin, only to end up with Bill. The girls and Steve eventually discover their whereabouts and bring them back together.
