Ernie Douglas, still a kid, finds himself the unexpected target of adoration from Dodie's six-year-old friend. Meanwhile, Barbara receives a request from the Board of Education to step in as a substitute teacher at a nearby high school. To her surprise, her stepson Chip is in her class, and he quickly becomes her star student, much to his embarrassment.
