Chip finds himself perplexed by a composition assignment called "What My Mother Means to Me." In his quest to complete it, he talks to various mothers in the area for inspiration. Ultimately, he decides to take a bold step by writing about his Grandfather, whom he believes embodies the nurturing qualities he associates with motherhood more than anyone else.
