On a stormy evening in San Francisco, Steve finds himself away from home while Katie stays behind in the Douglas house, the rest of the family out at a ballgame. As the night wears on, her anxiety escalates when she starts hearing a disturbing rhythmic noise. In a panic, she calls Steve to tell him that the family hasn’t come back yet and that she’s now hearing a loud thumping sound.
