In the wake of the attack, both the Institute and The Clave are on edge, determined to extract information by any means necessary. When Lydia makes a tough decision regarding the Seelies, Jace, Clary, and Isabelle worry that this could lead to devastating consequences and prove to be an ineffective strategy against Valentine. With no alternatives left, the three friends resort to extreme measures to avert disaster. At the same time, Simon grapples with his new reality, while Alec finds himself emotionally conflicted about the unfolding events at the Institute.
