Episode Overview

With Sgt. MacDonald absent, Malloy takes on the role of Watch Commander, leaving Reed to team up with rookie officer Gus Corbin, who has only been on the force for nine months. Their shift kicks off with a purse snatcher discovered hiding in a church confessional. Shortly after, they respond to a pharmacy break-in, which reveals the thieves’ true target: the neighboring pawn shop. Ignoring Malloy’s explicit instruction to wait for backup, Corbin rushes into the pawn shop, leading to a stern reprimand from Malloy, yet they manage to apprehend the two suspects. In a tense foot chase, Corbin loses his firearm but still manages to capture one of the criminals unarmed.
