Episode Overview

Malloy and Reed are on the hunt for a missing six-year-old girl in a red sweater who has been abducted. Malloy discovers her in the home of a neighbor, where the girl has been brutally assaulted and is unconscious. When the kidnapper tries to flee, Malloy apprehends him but loses his temper after the suspect suggests the girl was "asking for it." As a result, the suspect files a complaint for excessive force, which Malloy acknowledges. He anticipates repercussions from his former mentor, Captain Moore, who ultimately imposes a four-day suspension, jeopardizing Malloy's aspirations of becoming a sergeant. Meanwhile, the duo also responds to a call about a man trapped in a storm drain.
