Struggling financially, Francis is persuaded by Dewey to find a steady job. However, an old friend from his band offers him a chance to be the tour manager instead. Meanwhile, back at home, Hal takes charge of the college recruiters, whom Malcolm is determined to avoid, treating each one like a potential romantic interest. Hal’s plans take a hit when Malcolm ultimately decides to attend Harvard.
