Episode Overview
Cybill's attempts to get Jeff to move out of her garage hit a snag when he loses his job as her stunt double after admitting he's too scared to perform a crucial scene. In a bid to help him, Cybill seeks out Stitch Sullivan, Jeff's mentor, hoping he can instill some confidence in Jeff. Stitch reminds Jeff of the ultimate motivation for being a stuntman: the allure of "world-class Hollywood nookie." This quickly boosts Jeff's spirits, but he soon faces another bout of nerves on a new film directed by Peter Bogdanovich. Cybill tries to support him, but when that fails, she resorts to listing everything she disliked about him during their marriage. This surprisingly spurs Jeff into action, and he jumps off the balcony, executing the stunt flawlessly. The director is ecstatic—until he discovers that none of it was captured on camera because Maryann had distracted the crew with the ongoing "trial of the century."
