Episode Overview
In Washington, DC, Hope finds herself tempted to betray Michael with John Dunaway while exploring a potential job opportunity. Although Michael enjoys a substantial salary increase and added benefits at his new job, Hope feels discouraged after her efforts to oppose the incinerator plan are defeated by the city council. Seeking alternatives, she reaches out to John to discuss possible legal actions and sets up a lunch meeting. During their meal, John expresses skepticism about a court challenge. Meanwhile, at DAA, Elliot advises Michael to request a raise, unaware that he’s already received one. Later, while sharing an intimate moment with Michael, Hope briefly envisions him as John. The following day, John informs Hope about a potential press relations position with an environmental group in DC. When she brings it up with Michael, his lack of excitement sparks an argument, as she feels she has always prioritized his career over her own. Hope shares her plans with Ellyn and Nancy, revealing her upcoming trip to Washington.
