Episode Overview

JayDee Jones is mustering the courage for his next mission, and he enlists Jan Warner to help him sneak back onto the base. However, he is caught by Chapman, who is in the midst of stealing three .45 pistols to sell. JayDee's older brother, Frank, advises him to get his act together, but JayDee, feeling overwhelmed, declares he wants to leave. At 04:30, Jones and Chapman attend the mission briefing. During takeoff, JayDee over-revs the engines, causing the plane to crash, resulting in the bombardier's death and severe injuries to the co-pilot, who later dies. Frank covers for JayDee, suggesting a maintenance issue. Colonel Hunter investigates, while Chapman sells the stolen guns to an Englishman who gets arrested.
