Episode Overview
Lieutenant General Harry Owen, commander of the 8th Air Force, organizes a shuttle raid targeting the Ergen Oil Works in Poltava, Russia, before heading to Berlin on the return trip. During the mission, a Russian bomber unexpectedly joins the formation but fails to respond to Baladin's radio inquiries or provide any recognition signals. Major Baladin, defying Gallagher's orders, shoots down the aircraft, only to later discover it was piloted by the esteemed Major Tobulkan and Captain Chernikov. General Voredenko demands accountability for the incident, threatening to withhold supplies until the responsible party is identified. Fearing for his life, Baladin turns to Donald “Doc” Kaiser for assistance.
