Episode Overview
In a violent confrontation, a cyberhacker and his employer, an Immortal, end up killing each other, but the Immortal survives. The hacker’s sister, Janet, who is friends with Amanda, becomes embroiled in the chaos. Meanwhile, Nick traces a backup CD to the Immortal, revealed to be Payton, a former astrologer and poisoner with a history with Amanda. After attacking Nick, Payton escapes using a poisoned smoke grenade, leaving him with just 22 hours to live unless he stays out of Payton's way. Amanda seizes the $10 million Payton was after, prompting him to kidnap Janet. They negotiate, leading to a fierce battle where Payton tries to deceive Amanda with a hologram. However, a weakened Nick destroys the projector, tipping the scales in Amanda's favor. In a surreal Quickening, Amanda reflects on her life and her bond with Nick.
