Episode Overview

During school, Derrick chats with his friends about an upcoming father/son sailing competition. While his buddies will be sailing with their dads, Derrick plans to team up with Ava. When two friends mock him for this decision, he becomes angry and confronts them, leading all the boys to end up in the principal's office. The temp secretary summons Susannah, Johnny, Jay, Ava, and Simon to retrieve Derrick. He confesses to Ava that he doesn’t want to race with her because she isn’t a father. Meanwhile, Nikki grows increasingly frustrated with Cameron and the school election process.
