As Senior Night approaches at William Penn Academy, Beverly realizes she’s being left out of the special recognition given to mothers of athletes. Determined to have her moment, she insists on a kiss and a rose from Adam and persuades Principal Ball to create a Non-Athlete Senior Night. Meanwhile, Adam tries to thwart his mother's plans. On another front, Erica struggles to find friends who want to take on the role of "pre-wedding fun captain." She reluctantly turns to Joanna, her future sister-in-law, who initially falls short but ultimately earns her place in the family.
