After wrapping up an interview at the racetrack, thoroughbred owner Katherine Wells privately confides in her horse trainer that she’s decided to exit the racing scene, having sold her beloved thoroughbred for a staggering $5 million. Following the morning workout, the sale will become official. As cameras roll with the new owner, Oxford Dunn begins his quarter run—but to everyone’s surprise, a different horse crosses the finish line. With no opportunity for a switch, this leads to yet another perplexing mystery for Banacek to unravel.
