Roadkill Garage (2016)
S01E05 Rare Jeep Revival and Road Trip!
Episode Overview
David Freiburger and Steve Dulcich take pleasure in bringing forgotten vehicles back to life, and this time they’re tackling a 1967 Jeep J100 panel truck that’s been languishing in the backyard of Jp Magazine Editor Rick Péwé. This unique truck, an Army surplus Audio-Visual Panel Delivery, was designed for media production in the field, with only about 2,500 units ever produced. It features an AMC 232ci straight-six engine, a three-on-the-tree manual transmission, and a Dana 20 transfer case for four-wheel drive. Though it’s a gem, it hasn’t hit the road since 1995. With a tight deadline, Freiburger aims to drive it to the Southern California Timing Association’s land speed races at El Mirage Dry Lake for patrol duty, followed by some off-roading adventures in the newly dubbed Flannel Wagon.
