Episode Overview
One of the standout projects from Roadkill Garage is the "Vanishing Paint" 1970 Dodge Challenger, first featured in Episode 4. After being on the back burner for 30 episodes, the car is finally getting some attention thanks to an invitation from Tire Rack to an upcoming race. David Freiburger and Steve Dulcich have scaled back their ambitions and are focused on making the car roadworthy. They’ll install a 360ci small-block engine, which they’ve been building over 16 episodes in the “How to Build Your First Engine” series, upgrade the TorqueFlite transmission, and demonstrate a budget-friendly method to swap in a Ford 9-inch rearend. The episode wraps up with classic Roadkill Garage speed trials, but this isn’t the end for the Vanishing Paint.
