Bill Nye the Science Guy (1993)
S01E15 Earth's Seasons
Episode Overview
No matter the time of year, Bill Nye remains a constant presence in our lives. Each year, we witness the changing seasons, with some months bringing snow and rain, while others bask in warmth and sunlight. The temperatures fluctuate from chilly to warm, marking winter, spring, summer, and fall. This seasonal cycle spans an entire year, coinciding with the Earth's journey around the Sun. It's no mere coincidence! The Earth orbits in a flat path, tilted slightly on its axis, which is the imaginary line connecting the North and South Poles. In June, the Northern Hemisphere, including Nye Labs, enjoys summer as it faces the Sun, while the Southern Hemisphere, like Australia and South Africa, experiences winter.
