Bill Nye the Science Guy (1993)
S01E20 Eyeball
Episode Overview
Join Bill Nye as he explores the fascinating world of eyes—the tiny organs with immense responsibilities. Your eyes, in collaboration with your brain, can perceive countless colors and track a swift-moving hockey puck across the rink. They transmit vital information about what you’re reading right now! Similar to a camera, your eyes capture light, focus it, and create images. Light enters through the pupil—the dark center of your eye—which adjusts size based on light intensity. Afterward, the lens directs the light to the back of the eye, where specialized rods and cones convert it into electrical signals for your brain.
