Time influences every aspect of life on our planet. Trees lose their foliage, while certain animals are nocturnal, and some insects only surface every 17 years. Humans created concepts of days, hours, minutes, and seconds to structure their existence and understand their surroundings. Early timekeeping began with the distinction between day and night. By observing the Earth's orbit around the Sun, humans established years and seasons, while the Moon's cycle around the Earth determined the months. A single day is defined by the Earth making a full rotation on its axis.
