Episode Overview
William decides to tackle the dripping kitchen faucet on his own, which leads to a costly plumber visit. At the same time, Hester receives a call from Peter's parents, the Richardsons, who are visiting London from Dorset. They invite themselves for dinner and an overnight stay. Overwhelmed by the intrusive Margaret and the dreadfully dull Henry, the Fields are frustrated when their guests opt to extend their stay. To escape, they concoct a story about a dinner reservation at a Bournemouth hotel and sneak next door to Sonia's for the night. However, when Margaret and Henry show up to chat with Sonia, the Fields hastily retreat to Nancy's granny flat, only to be mistaken for burglars. They justify their sudden return by claiming Nancy has come down with the flu, but the next morning, Margaret cheerfully reveals that Henry has caught it too and will be bedridden for several days.
