Episode Overview

Mary's old high school friend is in town, and excitement buzzes as everyone learns that she’s a renowned writer, psychologist, and romance expert, much like Dr. Ruth. Mary daydreams about the fame and admiration that comes with such a status but starts to feel a pang of jealousy when Brenda expresses her desire to emulate Dr. Butler. Confiding in Lester, Mary learns he thinks Thelma might actually be envious of her stable life. This sparks a heated argument between Mary and Thelma, where they both air past grievances.
