Episode Overview
Title: For Richer, For Poorer Plot: Sandra is swept off her feet by her new boyfriend, who showers her with extravagant gifts. However, her friends are taken aback to discover he is the same age as Pearl! When he proposes marriage and gives her a day to decide, she declines, only for him to suffer a heart attack moments later. In the hospital, Mary and Sandra disguise themselves as medical staff to bypass the unhelpful desk nurse. Believing he may be near death, Sandra tells him she’ll marry him to lift his spirits. The next day, they find Abner has surprisingly recovered; his “heart attack” was merely indigestion. He declares his wish to wed the kind nurse who cheered him up—mistakenly believing it was the impolite desk nurse, Nurse Grubb, and Sandra doesn’t correct him. Meanwhile, Brenda, Calvin, and Alexandria scramble to gather funds for a Prince concert.
