Episode Overview
In the early months of 1942, Captain Pug Henry continues to lead the USS Northampton. Meanwhile, Pamela Tudsbury and her father are in Singapore, where local officials are convinced the island is invulnerable, though a journalist friend challenges this belief. In Italy, Nathalie Henry and her uncle Aaron remain hopeful for exit visas to Switzerland, but their requests have been repeatedly stalled. Unbeknownst to them, Aaron's former student, now a German diplomat, has been tasked with facilitating the capture of Italian Jews. Meanwhile, Nathalie's ex-fiancé, Leslie Slote, working at the US Legation in Bern, uncovers chilling details about the German atrocities in Eastern Europe. In a grim turn, SS leader Heinrich Himmler inspects Auschwitz, witnessing its horrific operations firsthand.
