Bonanza (1959)

Episode Overview

While Hoss is away on business in a small town, he finds himself wrongfully accused of murder and robbery. Following the death of the wealthiest man in the area, the locals are more interested in his fortune than in true justice. They believe that by intimidating Hoss, he will reveal the location of the hidden riches. A group of prominent citizens, including the mayor, bands together to form a lynch mob, but their execution of Hoss is only half-hearted. Just as the mob approaches, cowboy Child Barnett intervenes and frees Hoss, leading to an unexpected friendship as they flee together.
