Episode Overview

Little Joe discovers genuine love with Alice Harper, a newcomer to the area. After a romantic courtship, they become engaged, and unlike previous relationships, Alice makes it to the altar. As they embark on their life together, Alice becomes pregnant, and everything seems perfect in their new home. However, their happiness shatters when Joe is out one day. Alice's lazy brother has failed to settle his debts with a merciless businessman, and in his absence, they confront Alice. Unable to pay what's owed, she tragically loses her life, and their house is set ablaze.
