Bonanza (1959)

Episode Overview

Ben, Joe, and Adam head to Bowleg to settle the annual taxes on the Ponderosa. Once they finish the payment, Ben and Joe ride over the summit to join the cattle drive, while Adam sets off towards Genoa, carrying a $10,000 bank draft from his father. In town, a prison guard bursts in with alarming news: two dangerous criminals, Elmer Trace and his accomplice Poindexter, have escaped. The pair were aided by a guard, who they then betray on their journey. Trace takes the guard's clothes, horse, and weapons, leaving Poindexter with just a rifle before riding away. The Bowleg Sheriff quickly organizes a posse to track them down.
